Flail mower with combustion engine – what is an ATV mower?

A lawn mower with its own internal combustion engine , attached to various vehicles, is an ATV mower . Although there is no strict definition, simply put, it is a grass-cutting device that, thanks to its self-propulsion, does not require an external power source, such as a tractor's PTO shaft. Although it has an engine, it does not have a ground drive – it must be towed by another vehicle. The internal combustion engine is responsible only for powering the shaft or cutting blades.

Types of ATV mowers:

Both types differ in the design of the cutting unit. Flail mowers use special flails (hammer blades) mounted on a shaft to handle dense vegetation and undergrowth. Grooming mowers, on the other hand, use rotating blades that operate similarly to a helicopter propeller, ensuring precise lawn cutting.

This model's engine is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder Lifan, OVH 16 HP, gasoline engine with manual start. The mower is self-propelled, allowing it to be used with a quad bike or off-road vehicle, for example. A balanced shaft with flail blades ensures smooth operation, while the high shredding speed ensures excellent results. The mower is equipped with an ISO-50 vehicle hitch.

The mower can be adjusted:

• height and angle of the drawbar,
• side shift.
