Alternator for LS Tractor TR-N tractors.
An alternator is a device that converts mechanical energy into direct and alternating current, thereby supplying the tractor's electrical system, including the battery. The alternator generates current only while the engine is running and is driven by a V-belt. The first signs of a faulty alternator are a charge warning light that does not go out, flashes or does not light up at all, i.e. the battery charging light when the engine glow plugs are being heated. A warning light that comes on while the tractor is running may indicate incorrect voltage supplied by the alternator to the battery.
