The flail shaft is a key component in mowers, and its main function is to rotate the attached flails, which perform the cutting motion. Thanks to the shaft's high rotational speed, the flails are able to effectively chop up vegetation, ensuring an evenly cut surface. The flails, which are usually made of hardened steel, are highly resistant to wear and damage. Their shape, often resembling the letter "Y" or "T," is optimized for cutting efficiency and minimal drag during operation. This allows flail mowers to cope with a variety of terrain conditions and vegetation types.
