A fusible link relay, also called a thermal or overload relay, is a device that protects the electrical installation against damage caused by excessive current.

It works by using an alloy that, when exposed to excessive current (i.e., excessive overheating), melts, opening the circuit and disconnecting the power supply. This protects the circuit from further overload.

Fusible link relays provide effective protection against overloads, especially in conditions of strong vibrations.
