MBER 140 Geograss - what does a tractor shredder mower look like and what is it?

A grass shredder mower is a tractor-driven mower, because its operation relies on the power of the tractor engine (or another machine) and it must be mounted on the rear or front three-point linkage of the tractor. Power is transmitted from the tractor to the mower gearbox by a PTO shaft, and from the gearbox, without a clutch, to the hub on which the cutting blades are mounted. Such a solution requires additional protection against damage to the gearbox or blades. When the mower hits an obstacle or becomes clogged with cut material, the lack of a clutch in the gearbox can damage the gearbox, the shaft or the blades, which is why the manufacturer recommends using PTO (power take-off) shafts with a clutch or with a so-called shear bolt.

A shredder-type mower is equipped with two cutting blades, and it is precisely the difference in the blades used that determines the differences between various models from different manufacturers of shredder mowers. The way the blades rotate, regardless of the blades used, is the same, and in every case the blades rotate in the same way, similar to the way a helicopter rotor spins. The difference between mowers lies in the size of the cutting blade itself and the size of the rotating bar to which the blades are bolted.

MBER Geograss is a shredder mower that can be used to mow not only green grass but also wasteland with plants of moderate thickness. The mower will also cut small, young self-seeded trees and shrubs as well as crop residues. The agricultural shredder is equipped with heavy blades (2 x 3 kg) which, combined with a strong gearbox, give very large mowing capabilities, even for tougher materials such as low shrubs and crop residues, e.g. from maize. Its durable construction, solid housing, high-quality bearings and strong gearbox allow many hours of use of the mower, even in difficult terrain and for many hours a day.
