Product description

How to choose a tire?

Properly selected tires allow for maximum use of the tire's driving properties and translates into better use of the tractor's power. A correctly selected tire should be in contact with the ground surface with the entire surface of the tread face. Low-profile tires are recommended for large machines used mainly for transport purposes over even and long distances, while high-profile tires are recommended for small and medium-sized vehicles, where the driving characteristics require the use of narrow tires. Tires are divided into two main groups:

  • Radial tires / R / (carcass fibers at right angles to the reinforcement of the tire sides). The tire is less resistant to mechanical damage, but more durable and more economical to operate the machine. A tire with a larger contact area can operate at reduced and increased pressure and compacts the ground less. Allows you to change the tasks of field work of the tractor.
  • Diagonal tires /D/ (carcass fibers in relation to the reinforcement of the tire sides at an acute angle). The tire is very resistant to mechanical damage, needs high pressure, compacts the ground more. The tire is designed to work in difficult terrain conditions and with constant air pressure.

What tire size?

Tire sizes are usually given in inches (inch; abbreviation or symbol: in or ″) and it is a sequence of numbers and letters denoting the tire width, profile height and construction type, tread type and rim diameter. Tire 205/50-10 is a tire:

  • 205 - tire width,
  • 50 -tire profile
  • 10 - rim diameter.

Additionally, information about the number of X PR canvases, the speed index, e.g. TT , and the maximum tire load in kg or lbs are provided on the tire.

Dimensions :

  • outer diameter: 466 mm (+/- 10 mm),
  • rim diameter: 280 mm,
  • width: 205 mm (+/- 10 mm),
  • number of canvases: FP4,
  • load capacity: 428 kg (930 LBS),
  • pressure: 12PSI,
  • tire size: 205/50-10,
  • central hole diameter: 73 mm,
  • diameter of holes for mounting screws: 17 mm,
  • spacing of holes for mounting bolts: 67 mm measured apart, 108 mm measured diagonally,
  • weight: 12.5 kg.

Incorrectly selected tires can damage the tyre, machine or pose a threat to people and animals and affect the comfort of work and operation, e.g. fuel consumption. Maintaining the correct tire pressure allows optimal use of the driving characteristics of the tires, the power of the machine and extends their life.

Questions & Answers

Why is regular filter replacement (oil, air, fuel) crucial for a mini tractor?

User
Ekspert Traktor.com.pl – Doradca techniczny • 17.02.2026
Regular filter replacement is the easiest way to extend the life of an engine from brands like Kubota or Yanmar. The oil filter removes metallic contaminants generated during operation, the air filter protects the cylinders from field dust, and the fuel filter prevents water and dirt from damaging the precision injection system. We recommend replacing filters every 50-100 operating hours or at least once per season to ensure optimal engine performance.

How to properly select and sharpen mower blades for a Japanese tractor?

User
Ekspert Traktor.com.pl – Doradca techniczny • 17.02.2026
When selecting mower blades, consider the mower deck model and the blade length and center bore diameter. Maintaining blade balance is crucial when sharpening – an unbalanced blade causes vibrations that damage the hub bearings. Remember that sharp blades mean healthier grass, a cleaner cut, and less strain on the engine of your Iseki or Mitsubishi tractor.

How to identify the correct V-belt size and how to care for it?

User
Ekspert Traktor.com.pl – Doradca techniczny • 17.02.2026
It's best to read the markings on the side of the old V-belt. If they are illegible, measure the belt width and its outer length (La). On Shibaura and Hinomoto tractors, it's important to regularly check the belt tension – too loose a belt will cause slippage and faster wear, while too tight a belt can cause alternator or water pump bearing failure.
