Product description

MD 115472 cylinder head valve seal for LS Tractors series J23HST, J27HST and others.

This is a small rubber seal whose main task is to prevent engine oil from entering the combustion chamber and exhaust gases from entering the cylinder head.

The valve seal guarantees perfect sealing on the valve stems, i.e. where the valves enter the engine head. Symptoms of a worn or faulty seal are primarily increased oil consumption, as well as damage to the catalytic converter.

It is best to replace valve seals during engine head repairs, or when the engine starts to take in large amounts of oil. However, it should be remembered that this is a rather complicated operation that requires knowledge and experience, so it is worth entrusting it to experienced mechanics.

It's best to read the markings on the side of the old V-belt. If they are illegible, measure the belt width and its outer length (La). On Shibaura and Hinomoto tractors, it's important to regularly check the belt tension – too loose a belt will cause slippage and faster wear, while too tight a belt can cause alternator or water pump bearing failure.
