Pleuellager sind Elemente, deren Hauptaufgabe darin besteht, die Reibung an der Verbindungsstelle der Pleuelstange mit der Kurbelwelle zu reduzieren. Die ersten Anzeichen verschlissener Pleuellager sind ein unnatürliches, ständiges Klopfgeräusch vom Motor. Verschlissene Buchsen müssen so schnell wie möglich durch neue ersetzt werden. Ein zu später Austausch eines defekten Elements kann zu schweren Schäden an der Welle, der Pleuelstange oder dem Motor führen.
