The radiator water pump is one of the most important elements of the engine cooling system, and this cooling method is commonly called water cooling . The engine block and engine head are elements that heat up to very high temperatures during operation, and we want to cool them with coolant during operation. Special water channels are drilled in the engine and head to circulate water, which is then pumped back into the engine's water channels. Coolant circulation is possible thanks to the water pump , which is usually placed between the radiator and the engine and is driven by a V-belt from the alternator. We screw the pulley to the pump flywheel, and then the radiator fan, which rotates together with the pulley, providing air movement needed to cool the radiator while the engine is running.

The most common problems and failures of the water pump are the seizure of the bearing , which is subject to high rotational speeds, and the elements that directly cooperate with the pump, such as the pulley and the fan, which are not always properly balanced. A belt that is too tight , a worn belt , a V-belt that is too loose , a V-belt installed at the wrong angle , poor lubrication or lack of grease are other causes that cause damage to the water pump. The first signs of water pump damage or signs of improper operation include an unnatural sound from under the hood, coolant stains under the tractor or temperature spikes visible on the instrument panel clocks.
