Die Kupplungsdruckplatte ist ein Element, das das Getriebe mit dem Motor verbindet und somit für die Übertragung des Drehmoments vom Motor über das Getriebe auf das Antriebssystem des Traktors verantwortlich ist. Um diesen ganzen komplizierten Prozess zu vereinfachen, ist die Kupplungsdruckplatte für das Bewegen des Traktors, das Starten, Stoppen und das Schalten der Vorwärtsgeschwindigkeit verantwortlich. Die Kupplungsdruckplatte besteht aus einem Gehäuse, Ausrückfedern und einer Scheibe. Ihre Hauptaufgabe besteht darin, die entsprechende Reibungskraft auf die Kupplungsscheibe auszuüben, eine Kraft, die ausreicht, damit sich diese beiden Elemente (Druckplatte und Scheibe) nicht drehen mit unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten.

Die ersten Anzeichen einer verschlissenen Kupplung sind ein unnatürliches Geräusch beim Betätigen oder Loslassen des Kupplungspedals, ein unangenehmer Geruch oder ein Knirschen des Getriebes. Beim Austausch der Kupplung empfiehlt es sich, alle Komponenten (Scheibe, Druckplatte, Lager) auszutauschen, da diese Komponenten häufig gleichzeitig verschleißen.
